ZEALCO

Health Innovation unit of Region Zealand (SIS)

ZEALCO is the large, solid anchor organisation of the consortium. Approximately 17.000 employees help secure the welfare benefits and development of Region Zealand for a total of 820.000 citizens. Most of the employees work in the health care system and in the psychiatric units, or help children and adults in highly specialised social institutions. The Health Innovation unit of Region Zealand (SIS) was established in 2011 by Region Zealand along with the European Social Fund, the European Regional Development Fund, and The Growth Forum Initiatives of Region Zealand. The centre is located close to Næstved Hospital. Our mission is, by means of public-private collaboration, to develop innovative solutions to increase the productivity of the hospitals and improve the security and quality of life for the patients. Our vision is for Region Zealand to become leading in patient empowerment and mHealth (mobile technology in healthcare). We aim to be the best at including the citizens of our region as co-creators and co-producers of the services. Our primary focus is on patient empowerment mHealth, and quantified self-technology. The Procurement Department (RZEG) is a part of Corporate Finance. The main part of the EU-tendering process regarding goods and services in Region Zealand are carried out by the Procurement Department.
